Kasich is running a distant third place, but hopes to play spoiler for Donald Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz with eyes for the Republican National Convention in July.
In the morning, Kasich will appear at Hofstra University, in Hempstead, before he heads out to Huntington, Suffolk County, for an evening event.
Kasich is also scheduled to join Republican front-runner Donald Trump at the annual New York State Republican Committee gala on April 14 — less than a week before the state primary.
